A pleasant flight – two words that could be used to aptly express your future ride on MAX 700. It is a model based on our extremely popular MAX to which we have added 700c wheels and components designed for speedy road trips.
For the SPEZI show in 2023, we built the AZUB MAX 700 gravel recumbent bike in a custom configuration with SRAM Rival 2×11 wireless components, carbon rims, Magura hydraulic disc brakes, and a Lauf carbon suspension fork. It was the absolute highlight of the show. It was later displayed during the Cycle-Con 2023 in Xenia, OH as well.
With a bike like this, you can easily handle the rigors of light gravel roads in comfort like you’ve never experienced before.
In an ergonomic carbon seat, with full suspension set-up and a view that won’t give you a sore neck even after a few hours of riding.
By the way, this bike was specified by Jan, our sales manager, who wanted to test it on gravel roads, and who has a passion for beautiful and functional road and especially mountain bikes.
It is no surprise then that all the components are carefully matched both functionally and in terms of look.

MAX 700 is an excellent companion for long and fast rides or even extended expeditions, as well as a nimble friend perfect for commuting. One usually wants to get to work as quickly as possible and then perhaps look forward to an afternoon trip before heading back home, always with their favorite bike by their side. For MAX 700, we provide a comprehensive portfolio.
Fast road bikes are simply meant to be fitted out with 700c wheels. And it makes no difference if you use the French 700c designation, the more common 28” or even the 622 mm measurement. Basically, they are wheels larger than 26”, they are usually lighter and you can choose from a wide variety of fast and light tires. What is more, they look great on fast road bikes and the choice of forks suitable for wheels of this size is much better too. On the other hand, one must bear in mind that on recumbents, wheels of this size mean higher seating, with the rigid carbon fork, the seat is about as high as on the standard MAX with 26” wheels and a suspension fork.
You can choose from two different styles of steering. It is either the ASS – above seat steering (also called over seat steering) or the USS – under seat.
AZUB frames are recognizable by their central frame tube to which all the major elements are fixed, be it the head tube with the front fork, the seat, the rear fork bracket or the luggage racks. This solution not only gives our bikes maximal stiffness and solidity, hence providing stable riding performance, but also an important carriage capacity in the form of its back carrier.
The design of our asymmetric rear fork we presented at the SPEZI 2007 astonished not only recumbent bike riders but also professionals. It is not a gadget for a mere showing off! You can experience the functionality of its original shape and of its unique fit into AZUB frames on the Mini, SIX and MAX models.
We’ve eliminated the “pogo effect” by specifically placing a chain pulley on the Top Line models. What is more, it is positioned on an axis made of high quality stainless steel, which allows the chain to swing smoothly from the left to the right according to the set gear. This technical solution improves the chain’s lifetime and lower the resistance that occurs when the axis is in a fixed position.
It does not matter whether your biggest wish is a bike in Ferrari red or a sky blue one, whether you dream at night of an aggressive looking number or a sporty specimen, of a sophisticated stylish model or of pure comfort. Neither does it matter whether you are planning short, relaxing trips or long expeditions which might take several months. We can help you fulfill an incredible number of wishes.
For us, the aim is simply to see a happy person with a smile on his or her face every time they get on their bike.
