Cycle Different

Having grown up working at “Angle Lake Cyclery”, his Father’s bike shop in Seattle, the world of cycling seemed a familiar place to Kelvin. He was selling Raleigh and Schwinn even before the 10-speed craze hit in 1969. After selling diamond frames, Stingrays, and cruisers for many years, there was little mystery left in the world of upright bikes. It was in 1979, a gentleman named Roger came in and asked “what do you know about recumbents?” Kelvin replied “I’m afraid I know almost nothing about them, but I am willing to learn”

The result of this question was that Kelvin ordered Roger an Avatar 2000, one of the earliest production Long Wheelbase recumbents. Six months later it arrived from Boston, and many more recumbents were to follow. It was the culmination of years of self-education in recumbents that spurred Kelvin’s move to Woodland Park, CO where he first opened Angletech in 1993. In 2010 we moved into our current location near the Garden of the Gods, In Colorado Springs.

Today Angletech is one of only a few places in the world where you can come ride and compare a huge variety of Recumbents and Trikes without leaving the parking lot. With over 50 different recumbents and more than 20 different brands, (yes I just went and counted them), you’re sure to find the cycle perfectly suited to your needs. We only have about 90 years of cycling experience between the four of us, Kelvin, Kirk, Josiah, & Alexis, so we rely greatly on our close relationships with humans just like you, to help us learn and grow.
